As an architect at GRAFT Brandlab, I was part of the team that designed and realized the world’s first VoloPort in Singapore — a prototype for the future of urban air mobility. Conceived as a modular, scalable version of an airport for vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air taxis, the project translates the complexity of aviation infrastructure into an accessible, human-centered experience.
The architectural concept integrates boarding, charging, and battery-exchange processes into one seamless flow, merging technical efficiency with an intuitive spatial rhythm. Drawing from airport psychology and the choreography of movement, the design creates a sense of orientation, safety, and anticipation — essential emotions in a completely new mobility context.
The VoloPort stands as a blueprint for future urban air hubs: adaptable, compact, and emotionally engaging, bridging the gap between aviation engineering and urban experience.
