visitBerlin – Humboldt Forum Welcome Space
For visitBerlin, we designed the complete welcome space inside the newly built Humboldt Forum—a room that had to navigate Berlin’s famously delicate relationship with its own architectural history. The centerpiece: a copper-colored sculptural “box” suspended from the ceiling, a bold yet humorous nod to the former Palast der Republik. Instead of rebuilding the past, we literally hung it in the air—light, iconic, and knowingly self-ironic.
Around this key piece, we transformed the entire room into a flexible, urban-spirited visitor hub. Flight cases, normally backstage workhorses of Berlin’s cultural scene, were reimagined as modular furniture—robust, playful, and unmistakably “Berlin.” We developed a fresh graphic language, tactile surfaces, and designed a new staff uniform system, giving the space a cohesive identity and contemporary warmth.
